Change a Voice

A step-by-step tutorial for converting an existing recording into a different voice while keeping the original words, timing, and emotion.

Change a Voice

In this tutorial you will take a recording you already have and convert it into a different voice. The words, timing, and emotion stay the same. Only the speaker's identity changes.

For a full reference, see the Voice Changer docs.

Prerequisites

  • Voice Creator Pro, running either as the desktop app on your machine, or in the cloud at https://app.voicecreator.pro
  • A recording to convert (a file, or a mic take)
  • A target voice in mind (from your library, a short reference clip, or a YouTube link)

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Step 1: Open the Voice Changer

Open the Voice Changer in Voice Creator Pro.

Step 2: Add Your Source Audio

Load the recording you want to convert. Pick whichever fits:

  • Upload a file - Select a WAV or MP3 from your computer.
  • Record from your mic - Capture a take directly in the app.

Step 3: Choose a Target Voice

Select the voice you want the recording to become:

  • Pick any saved voice from your library.
  • Record or upload a short reference clip.
  • Paste a YouTube URL and pull the audio from a video.

A clean 10 to 20 second reference works best.

Step 4: Convert

Run the conversion. Voice Creator Pro re-voices the recording in the target speaker's identity while keeping the original words, timing, and emotion. The result plays when it finishes.

Step 5: Download or Iterate

Download the output, or try a different target voice. Every conversion is stored in History so you can compare attempts.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use a clean source recording. Background noise in the original carries into the conversion.
  • Use a clean target reference. A short, clear reference clip produces a more convincing target identity.
  • Try a few targets. Different voices suit different source performances. Compare a couple from your History.
