Subtitle Generator

Generate accurate, perfectly timed subtitles for any video or audio, with word-level timestamps, translation into 21 languages, styled burned-in captions, and SRT or VTT export.

The Subtitle Generator turns the speech in any video or audio file into timed caption lines automatically. Drop in your media, and Voice Creator Pro transcribes it with word-level timestamps, optionally translates it, and lets you style and burn captions into the video or export plain subtitle files for any editor.

You can run the whole thing locally on the desktop app, or generate subtitles in your browser with VCP Cloud.

How It Works

You provide a video or audio source and Voice Creator Pro produces finished subtitles in three steps:

1. Import Your Media

Drop in a video or audio file, record from your microphone, or paste a YouTube URL to pull the audio. The spoken language is detected automatically, or you can set it yourself.

2. Generate Subtitles

The speech is transcribed into timed lines with word-level timestamps, so captions line up exactly with what is being said. If you need a localized version, translate the result into another language.

3. Style or Export

Style the captions and burn them into the video, or export plain SRT or VTT sidecar files to drop into any editor.

Word-Level Timestamps

Every word gets a precise start and end time, not just each line. Captions stay in sync on fast-paced footage, and word-level timing is what makes karaoke-style highlighting possible.

Translation

Subtitles can be translated into 21 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, and Arabic, among others. Generate a translated caption track per region so one video reaches audiences in multiple languages. The full list is available in the language selector.

Caption Styling

You have full control over how subtitles look:

  • Caption and karaoke-style highlighting - Show each line as a caption, or highlight every word as it is spoken for a karaoke effect.
  • Background boxes - Add a background behind the text so captions stay readable over bright or busy footage.
  • Fonts and styling - Control the font, size, and styling of the captions.
  • Presets - Save and reuse styling presets so your subtitles look consistent across videos.
  • Sidecar export - Export plain SRT or VTT files instead of, or in addition to, burned-in captions.

Per-Line Regeneration

If a single line comes through wrong, you do not have to redo the whole file. Regenerate that line on its own and keep the rest as it is.

Use Cases

Social Media Captions

Add captions to YouTube, TikTok, Reels, and Shorts so videos land with viewers watching sound-off.

Accessibility

Caption video and audio for hearing-impaired viewers and meet accessibility or compliance requirements.

Course and Training Videos

Caption lessons and training material, and offer translated subtitles so learners follow along in their own language.

Localized Versions

Generate translated subtitle tracks per region so one video reaches audiences in multiple languages.

Subtitle Generator vs Dubbing

The Subtitle Generator captions a video in its original language, or adds a translated caption track, while keeping the original audio. Video Dubbing goes further and re-voices the whole video into another language in each speaker's own voice, with lip sync. Both produce styled subtitles, so reach for the Subtitle Generator when you only need captions, and Dubbing when you need the audio in a new language too.

Next Steps

  • Video Dubbing - Re-voice a whole video into another language with lip sync and subtitles
  • Speech to Text - Transcribe audio to text and export SRT or timestamped JSON
  • Voice Changer - Re-voice a recording into a single target voice
